"Bronze is forever." A commissioned portrait is opportunity to create legacy, to commit a personality to a history, personal or public, or both. Consider commissioning a portrait of yourself or a loved one. Or perhaps there is a leader in your institution or a member of your organization who is an individual worthy of remembrance. Perhaps now is the moment to ensure that memory. Nancy K. Wilson's personal artistic interpretation has earned her a reputation for capturing a likeness that portrays the essence of her subject's personality. In addition to private commissions, she has installed a series of portrait bronzes of former Deans of the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine: Marjorie Sirridge, M.D.; E.R. Anderson, M.D. former Surgeon General of U.S. Air Force; Michael Friedland, M.D.; relief bronze of Glen Irwin, M.D., former IUPUI Chancellor and Dean of Indiana University School of Medicine and his wife Marianna, and collaborated on other portrait bronzes with Ben J. Wilson, MD, also for Indiana University School of Medicine. Portraits in bronze can be rendered in sizes from head/neck (portrait bust) to full figure, single subject or group composition; from table top/book shelf size, to larger-than-life indoor or outdoor installation. Nancy chooses to work with Arizona Bronze Foundry (www.azbronze.com), highly regarded in the industry for its attentions to quality and detail, ability to install and maintain large works, and commitment to work closely with the artist, holding to the integrity of the original work. ![]() Text and images © 2011 N.
